Hurrah! We’re finally ready to reveal our first review for Season 9! Matt gets his first choice of anime series, and he had picked maybe he favorite of all time, the weird and wacky The Irresponsible Captain Tylor! Settle in for a hell of a journey as we go episode-by-episode through this cult classic 90s anime. Our first episode, “The Mysterious Irresponsible Man,” introduces us to our titular character as he tries to join the United Planets Space Force. Will he be successful? And how much damage will he do with his power of seduction along the way? Guess you’ll have to listen to find out!
Sorry, we forgot to post last week’s episode here! So here you go!
Andy may be exhausted from spending his whole day creating the new Tooning RPG episode (link below) and this episode, but if there are any night owls out there, check this one out! Andy and Bill (and again, briefly Josh) break down the very last episode of Wolf’s Rain, which is creatively titled “Wolf’s Rain.” Again, the OVA proves to be extremely dark and extremely confusing. That said, it’s really a unique and intriguing end to the series. To find out each of our thoughts, give it a listen!
This week we welcome special guest Ray (from our Pokemon Generations episodes) as we discuss another episode of Gurren Lagann, “You’re Gonna Do It!!” This episode at least has its own plot, but the low budget techniques are still running rampant.
Thank you for being patient as we took last week off! We needed the extra time to get caught up, and now we have the first of three Summer Viewing Programming episodes! This week it’s Josh’s pick, and we’re watching Team Four Star’s Dragon Ball Z Abridged! Andy and Bill had some problems with it, but overall everyone seemed to enjoy it. Join us for our discussion of fan dubbing and our thoughts on the show. Also, can you guess how many times we hear the Josh Owned Counter?
Well, the holidays have officially left as we say goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017. We recorded this episode before Christmas as were going to release it on Patreon, but we decided to toss it up on the main feed! Bill, Andy, Josh, and Ray open gifts and talk about the holidays and whatever else comes to mind.
Thank you for making 2016 such a fun year! We hope you’ve enjoyed the show, and here’s to a great 2017!
