Now that we had officially finished Season 4 of the podcast, that means there’s just one thing left to do. That’s compile our bloopers! These come from Episodes 14-24 of our podcast. As always, these bloopers might contain more inappropriate content that we leave out of our usual episodes, so listener discretion if advised.
Today marks the end of Season 4 of Tooning Japanese! That means it’s time for a retrospective on Wolf’s Rain. Who would be better to join Andy and Bill in this than our very own Superfan Matt! The three talk about the show’s highs and lows, some of its more in-depth ideologies, and their favorite characters and moments. Oh, and Bill reveals his choice for Season 5 of the podcast! Next week we have an episode full of bloopers for you!
Sorry, we forgot to post last week’s episode here! So here you go!
Andy may be exhausted from spending his whole day creating the new Tooning RPG episode (link below) and this episode, but if there are any night owls out there, check this one out! Andy and Bill (and again, briefly Josh) break down the very last episode of Wolf’s Rain, which is creatively titled “Wolf’s Rain.” Again, the OVA proves to be extremely dark and extremely confusing. That said, it’s really a unique and intriguing end to the series. To find out each of our thoughts, give it a listen!
Wait a minute…Thurk is here? AND Josh!? It’s a miracle…and a bit of a nightmare to edit. But that’s okay! This week the four of us talk about the second-to-last Wolf’s Rain episode, “High Tide, High Time.” Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the wolves…well, here we go!
I guess it’s just Bill and Andy this week again (though stay tuned for a short surprise at the tail end), and they have a brand new review of the overly bleak Wolf’s Rain OVA. This week they talk in depth about Episode 2, “Gunshot of Remorse.” The wolves deal with trying to find Paradise amidst a dying, desolate landscape. Will their pack survive all the way to the end? What sudden surprises will get in their way? Guess you better listen and find out!
We’re back to 2 again, but this time it’s Andy and Bill picking up where the season finale of Wolf’s Rain left off. Yeah, it’s OVA time, and we have 4 episodes to talk about as we wrap up Season 4. If you were expecting a happy ending, then you are not going to like where things go from here. Tune in this week for our discussion of Episode 1 of the Wolf’s Rain OVA, “Where the Soul Goes” as well as our Top 3 favorite raccoons!
Well, the best laid plans of wolves and men often go awry. Or was that mice? Or owls? Who really knows? People don’t read books these days. So due to massive flooding, Andy had to bail on this week’s recording, so enjoy a Bill and Josh episode. They also had to abandon the studio due to water, so the audio isn’t as crisp as usual–sorry about that! Bill and Josh (and Andy due to some post-production magic!) talk about the finale of Wolf’s Rain. Things come to a…conclusion…sorta. Thank God for the OVA. Enjoy our deep dive into Episode 26 of Wolf’s Rain, “Moonlight Crucible.”
Holy new episode, Batman! We’re back, everyone! Well, two of us are. Andy and Bill have gotten into the studio to record a brand new review of Episode 25 of Wolf’s Rain, “False Memories.” When we last left our pack, they were all pretty well buggered, and things go from bad to even worse this time around. Want to know how bad things are or why we hate Hige so much? Listen to the latest episode of Tooning Japanese to find out!
The moment we’ve been dreading has arrived. We’ve reached the end of Bonus Season 2. Bill and Andy recap the finale of the Record of Lodoss War OVA, and the feelings are bittersweet. Even though they’re sad it’s over, they had a great time rewatching the show and dissecting all of its Dungeons & Dragons goodness! Join us to find out what happens to Deedlit, Parn, Ashram, and Wagnard. Will Parn profess his love for Kashue? Will the dragon fight actually be cool? Will Wagnard t-bag all of Lodoss? Listen and find out!
We’re back to just Bill and Andy, but we cannot wait any longer! We’re so close to the end of Season 4 that we had to march on, regardless of how short the episode ended up. At least both of our intrepid hosts agreed that Episode 24 of Wolf’s Rain, “Scent of a Trap,” was really good. Everyone finds their way closer to Jaguara’s Keep, but only one wolf seems to have her true attention. This one ends with a bit of a cliff hanger! Join us for another discussion of Wolf’s Rain!
