What? A double feature?! Yep! Andy and Bill bring us home with a double dose of One Punch It’s hard to fathom that we have completed 5 full seasons of our humble little podcast. Andy, Bill, and Josh break down the series as a whole, talk about their favorite episodes, rank the show among the other seasons, answer listener questions, and reveal the anime for Season 6! This super packed episode has just about everything! We will be back in two weeks with our first summer viewing episode!
Today marks the end of Season 4 of Tooning Japanese! That means it’s time for a retrospective on Wolf’s Rain. Who would be better to join Andy and Bill in this than our very own Superfan Matt! The three talk about the show’s highs and lows, some of its more in-depth ideologies, and their favorite characters and moments. Oh, and Bill reveals his choice for Season 5 of the podcast! Next week we have an episode full of bloopers for you!
Sorry, we forgot to post last week’s episode here! So here you go!
Andy may be exhausted from spending his whole day creating the new Tooning RPG episode (link below) and this episode, but if there are any night owls out there, check this one out! Andy and Bill (and again, briefly Josh) break down the very last episode of Wolf’s Rain, which is creatively titled “Wolf’s Rain.” Again, the OVA proves to be extremely dark and extremely confusing. That said, it’s really a unique and intriguing end to the series. To find out each of our thoughts, give it a listen!
Wait a minute…Thurk is here? AND Josh!? It’s a miracle…and a bit of a nightmare to edit. But that’s okay! This week the four of us talk about the second-to-last Wolf’s Rain episode, “High Tide, High Time.” Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse for the wolves…well, here we go!
I guess it’s just Bill and Andy this week again (though stay tuned for a short surprise at the tail end), and they have a brand new review of the overly bleak Wolf’s Rain OVA. This week they talk in depth about Episode 2, “Gunshot of Remorse.” The wolves deal with trying to find Paradise amidst a dying, desolate landscape. Will their pack survive all the way to the end? What sudden surprises will get in their way? Guess you better listen and find out!
We’re back to 2 again, but this time it’s Andy and Bill picking up where the season finale of Wolf’s Rain left off. Yeah, it’s OVA time, and we have 4 episodes to talk about as we wrap up Season 4. If you were expecting a happy ending, then you are not going to like where things go from here. Tune in this week for our discussion of Episode 1 of the Wolf’s Rain OVA, “Where the Soul Goes” as well as our Top 3 favorite raccoons!
Well, the best laid plans of wolves and men often go awry. Or was that mice? Or owls? Who really knows? People don’t read books these days. So due to massive flooding, Andy had to bail on this week’s recording, so enjoy a Bill and Josh episode. They also had to abandon the studio due to water, so the audio isn’t as crisp as usual–sorry about that! Bill and Josh (and Andy due to some post-production magic!) talk about the finale of Wolf’s Rain. Things come to a…conclusion…sorta. Thank God for the OVA. Enjoy our deep dive into Episode 26 of Wolf’s Rain, “Moonlight Crucible.”
Well, we’ve finally made it. We have made it to the end of Gurren Lagaan with only minimal mental scarring. Well, hopefully. Tune in for our final discussion of Episode 27, “The Lights in the Sky Are Stars.” After reviewing the final fight with the Anti-Spiral, we break down the series overall and provide our final thoughts. Also, the anime for Season 4 is revealed! You can’t miss this week’s episode, where we end one chapter and begin another anew.
Andy and Bill didn’t have as many detailed notes, so they decided to team up and provide our fans with a discussion worthy of the two part finale of Gurren Lagann’s first arc! You heard it right, folks: we’re reviewing two episodes at once! Join us for the end of the first half of this anime as Andy reviews Episode 14, “Well Met, Everyone,” and Bill’s review of Episode 15, “I Will Head Towards Tomorrow.”
It feels like we just started our reviews of Trigun, but we’ve reached the bittersweet ending, “Under the Sky So Blue.” This week we tried something a bit different and conducted our review while watching the episode. You can (sort of) follow along as we review it, and due to the nature of this experiment, there’s far less editing involved this time around. Let us know what you think of the format, and we’ll be back next week with our final thoughts on Trigun!
